A man and woman in the US state of Georgia are facing child cruelty charges after using a homemade device to tattoo six of their children. Patty "Jo Jo" Marsh and Jacob Edward Bartels allegedly used a plastic pen fitted with a piece of guitar string to mark the children, aged 10 to 17. Unlicensed tattooists and the tattooing of minors are illegal in Georgia. Ms Marsh told local media she had not done anything wrong and that the children had asked for the tattoos....

Tattoos have held a prominent place in society for centuries. From culture to culture and age to age, the evolution and history of the tattoo goes beyond the boundaries of the physical or spiritual. When a person decides to get inked, the reasons are uniquely personal. In modern America, they have made counter cultural statements and aroused controversy in every walk of life. Whether for the sole purpose of evangelizing or simply to honor a loved one, the bearer of the tattoo has a story to tell and delights in the telling. Opponents and skeptics in the Christian faith have...

Wednesday, December 2nd brought hundreds of folks out to Costco in Tempe, Arizona. The one and only Sarah Palin graced their presence to sign her new book, "Going Rogue". According to a gentleman calling in to the Sean Hannity radio show on Thursday, he persuaded Governor Palin to not only sign his book but also his back. If you think this unbelievable, the Palin devotee then reported that he and his girlfriend wasted no time driving to a tattoo establishment and, you guessed it, having Palin's autograph permanently engraved on his back via tattoo. He sounded quite proud, while Hannity,...

BENICIA It wasn't a sexy half-naked lounging lady. It doesn't say "Mom." Josh Parker's months-old tattoo just says his first name, in Hebrew, a language he said he admires. But those six inches of lettering running across his right biceps were enough to bar him from entering the U.S. Air Force on Monday under a policy instituted just last week for those not fully enrolled in the service. Parker, 18, was called to his recruitment office Monday morning, the day he was scheduled to report for basic training, for a review of the tattoo. "They said, 'Can you salute...

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Enrique Gonzalez wanted his 7-year-old son to have a gang tattoo, like the many that adorn his own body. About that there is no dispute. The question that a judge says she will decide Friday is whether placing a tattoo on a minor is a permanent and painful disfigurement worthy of the potential life sentence that comes with a mayhem conviction, or is it something less?

It doesn't bother Hayden Panettiere that a tattoo artist misspelled her tattoo. The 19-year-old 'Heroes' star wanted live without regret written in Italian on her side but what she got was "Vivere Senza Rimipianti" and rimipianti has one "I" too many. Hayden Panettiere has been showing off a misspelled tattoo, inked on to her side in Italian, as she soaks up the sun in Cannes, France on May 19, 2009. But the actress isn't phased, according to WENN. "It is misspelled, whatever, I just put my own spin to it. Chances are I'll probably get it fixed, but that's why...
